What is the DS shear?
The DS shear is a hydraulic or mechanical guillotine shear for cutting sheets up to 8,000 mm in length. Designed to work alongside the press brake in the production cycle, it ensures high-precision straight cuts.
What lengths and thicknesses does it cut?
Useful lengths from 2,000 to 8,000 mm, thicknesses from 0.6 to 30 mm in carbon steel (reduced capacity on stainless and tougher materials).
What materials can it cut?
Carbon steel, stainless (reduced capacity), aluminium (extended capacity), galvanised sheets. Blades are HSS or Vanadium depending on the material.
Is the cutting angle adjustable?
Yes, the blade cutting angle is adjustable to optimise cut quality based on thickness and material, reducing twisting and part deformation.
Safety and CE compliance?
Compliant with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC: photoelectric barriers, safety footboard, protected blades and an automatic locking system.

Deep dive
DS guillotine shears.
The DS series by PG SRL is the guillotine shear available in hydraulic or mechanical versions for straight sheet cutting: monoblock frame, tilting blade, dedicated drive unit. Available in useful lengths from 2 to 8 metres and cutting capacity from 0.6 to 30 mm on mild steel.
Frame and blades
Electrowelded and normalised frame, ram guided on adjustable zero-clearance pads. 6150 tool-steel blades with four cutting edges, removable and reversible. Adjustable cutting angle to optimise effort based on thickness.
CNC back gauge
Motorised CNC back gauge, standard stroke 1000 mm extendable to 2000 mm. Positioning to ±0.1 mm tolerance, management of multiple programs with cut lists.
Loading/unloading system
Front table with balls or rollers for handling heavy sheets. Optional: automatic feeder, scrap evacuation system, finished part sorter. Configurations with support arm for long sheets.
