01 — The machine

The future of bending is electric.

E.DCA eliminates hydraulics completely: no oil, no cylinders, no filters to replace. Brushless servomotors and poly-V belts transmit motion to the ram without pressurised hydraulic fluid. Maintenance cut to a quarter, minimal operating costs: technical documentation supporting ESG and LCA pathways is provided on request based on the chosen configuration.

02 — Distinctive advantages

Three things that make it different.

Not a one-size-fits-all machine. Every detail addresses a specific problem in the customer's process.

01

Zero oil, zero leaks

100% mechanical transmission via servomotors and belts. No leaks, no waste-oil disposal, no contamination in clean workshops (food, pharma, automotive).

02

Zero thermal drift

Without the thermal expansion of pressurised oil, the ram holds position to hundredth-of-a-millimetre tolerances. Ideal for precision bending and small batches.

03

ESG ready

Lower CO₂ emissions vs a traditional hydraulic without inverter, quantified at commissioning on the customer's production mix. Technical documentation available for LEED and BREEAM certifications and Industry 4.0/5.0 schemes.

What we size to order
  • Tonnage and length — sized to the critical part, not picked from a catalogue
  • Servomotors — torque and power sized to the machine cycle, not the worst case
  • Daylight and stroke — adapted to housing height, box sections, special tooling
  • Back gauge — number of axes, X/R/Z stroke, extra fingers, dedicated profiles
  • Tool clamping — manual, pneumatic or automatic tool change
  • Sheet followers and supports — CNC-driven sheet followers, retractable supports, bend-and-flatten table
  • CNC and software — Cybelec, Delem, ESA with 3D simulation, ERP integration
  • Safety devices — Lazer Safe, MCS, photocells, destination-compliant guards
  • Automation — integrated robots, ATC, robotic cells for series production

FAQ

Everything about the E.DCA electric press brake.

Answers to the most common questions. For specific requirements write to info@pgsrl.eu.

What is a 100% electric press brake?

The E.DCA is a fully electric press brake: beam motion is driven by servomotors and recirculating-ball belts/screws. Zero hydraulic oil, zero leaks, minimal consumption and silent operation for precision workshops.

What are the advantages of the E.DCA?

Reduced electric consumption vs a traditional hydraulic without inverter, reduced CO₂ emissions (exact quantification depends on production mix and is measured at commissioning), no oil (clean environments — food, pharmaceutical), direct servo-electric control at the bottom dead centre, noise level under 70 dB.

What tonnages does the E.DCA range cover?

The E.DCA electric press brake covers 40 to 200 tonnes with useful lengths up to 4.200 mm. Optimal configuration for light carpentry, precision sub-supply and small/medium production runs.

Is the E.DCA suitable for small parts and clean environments?

Yes: zero oil, silent cycle and hundredth-millimetre repeatability make it suitable for medical, aerospace and electrical-cabinet sub-supply.

Can the E.DCA be used in cleanrooms or food environments?

Yes. The absence of hydraulic oil makes it suitable for cleanrooms, food and pharmaceutical work, and environments with cleanliness constraints.

Which CNC does the E.DCA come with?

CNC ESA S875W standard. The E.DCA is particularly suited to robotic integration and automated cells.

Deep dive

E.DCA press brakes: the electric series.

The E.DCA series is PG SRL's fully electric press brake: no hydraulic system, transmission via recirculating-ball screws, brushless servomotors. Available up to 200 tonnes with useful lengths from 1,25 to 4,2 metres.

Transmission

A high-precision pair of ball-screws moves the ram via pulleys and toothed belts. Brushless servomotors with absolute encoder on each axis: position and speed are known instant by instant.

Servo-electric control

Hundredth-millimetre repeatability on the Y axis without hydraulic lag or thermal drift of the fluid.

Working environment

No oil, no leaks, substantially reduced noise. Minimal maintenance compared to a hydraulic press: automatic lubrication of the screws, periodic belt check, no oil changes. Suitable for clean departments and certified environments.

When to choose E.DCA

Small and medium parts where repeatability is critical: automotive, white goods, contract, lighting, metal furniture. High-cadence cycles, frequent set-ups, attention to consumption and environmental cleanliness.
